Festival program

Kyiv Lights Festival will take place during three days on May 18, 19, 20. We have prepared a map to guide you to all KLF venues. You can download it here.

You are going to see light sculptures and installations, among which the works created by Ukrainian artists, the winners of the Kyiv Lights Art Prize contest. Also check out the installations near the Museum of the History of Ukraine which were created by artists, with the support of the Brazilian Embassy in Ukraine.

We offer you to follow this route to visit all of the venues: Poshtova Square → Sahaidachnoho Street → Andriivskyi Descent → an area in front of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine (2 Volodymyrska Street) → Mykhailivska Square. All the locations on this route will operate during three days on May 18-20 at 21:00 – 23:00.

Poshtova Square

May 18 21:00 – 23:00 – the festival will kick off with the international 3D-video mapping contest on Poshtova Square.
May 19 21:00 – 23:00 – A retrospective of the first day of the 3D-video Mapping Contest. You will be able to enjoy the contest entries one more time.
May 20 21:00 – 23:00 – the presentation of 10 finalists and winners of the 3D video mapping contest. You will be also able to see 10 best works of last year’s contest.

VJ Platform (Pavillion#13, VDNG, 1 Akademika Hlushkova Avenue)

The VJ Platform will turn the 13th VDNG pavilion into a venue for a VJ contest, BYOB, exhibitions of media art installations, and collaborations between VJs, artists and musicians. The VJ Platform is held in cooperation with Carbon Community and Ukrainian VJ association VJUA.

May 18-20 21:00 – 3:00 – BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer). It is an exposure format where space is converted into a digital art gallery. Artists are invited to show everything that can fall under the definition “image motion” with the help of THEIR OWN projector.
May 18 23:30 – The start of the international VJ Contest. The international jury will carry our the preliminary selection of the best VJs.

May 19 21:00 – Final of the VJ Contest. The finalists selected by the jury will compete for the first place.
